Dental visits or dental checkups - oral health maintanance

DENTAL CHECK UP - IMPORTANCE

Irregular or delayed dental check ups will cause huge number of problems to our oral health.
Many of the people ignore the oral health when compared to the overall health.
People will allow the problems to develop before they actually visit the dentist.

Some common issues that left unchecked:
  • Bleeding gums - gum bleeding and inflamed gums followed by periodontal pocket formation results in bone loss & causing the tooth loss.
Visiting the dentist regularly can ensure your gum health properly maintained and early treatments prevents further serious conditions.
    GINGIVITIS

    PERIODONTITIS
  • Tooth sensitivity - when there is initial decay, you may experience tooth sensitivity & in this stage we can save the tooth with filling, if delayed the decay may go to deeper layers and cause tooth pain, by this time treatment option will change.

    COMPOSITE FILLING FOR INITIAL DECAY

    COMPOSITE FILLING FOR DECAYED TOOTH

  • Tooth pain - Tooth pain comes mostly because of deep decay cases, sometimes tooth pain may be overlooked with help of over-the-counter medication, at that time pain may subside but the decay may go extensive.
In early intervention tooth can be saved by root canal treatment and in delayed cases tooth may needs to be removed and go for replacement.

For adults and children, six months once dental visit is compulsory. If any medical health condition is there three months once dental visit is preferable.

CONCLUSION:

Because of regular dental visits so many problems we can prevent with early intervention.
Early treatments are cost effective when compared to tooth replacements, crowns and gum therapy.

Visiting the dentist should be a regular part of our schedule.
And it's time to give priority to your oral health.
