Diabetes and oral health problems


Diabetes result in high blood sugar levels, which can cause problems with your gums,teeth, eyes,nerves, kidneys, heart and other parts of your body.



There is an increased prevalence of gum disease in diabetic patients.

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU HAVE GUM DISEASE:

The more severe form of gum disease is called periodontitis. 
You may have following signs:

REDDISH GUMS
BLEEDING GUMS


GUM LEVEL GOES DOWN EXPOSING ROOT SURFACE THAT CAUSES SENSITIVITY.
BAD BREATH

        If left untreated, the infection goes on to destroy the bone around your teeth. The teeth may start to move or get loose. Your teeth may fall out or need to be removed.
