DENTAL RADIOGRAPHS

Dental x-rays are required during your dental visits as :
  •  They help in accurate diagnosis.
  •  Allows dentists to see the unseen.

X-rays reveals 
  •  The extent of tooth decay.
  •  Bone loss.
  •  Presence of cysts / tumours.
  •  Impacted wisdom teeth.
  •  Presence of infection.
Types of dental x-rays:
  • Panoramic - full mouth x-ray (OPG).

  • Periapical - entire single tooth from crown to root along with the surrounding area of that tooth.
  • Bitewing - few upper and lower teeth mainly crown portions.
  • Cephalometric projections - side view of entire head for orthodontic and jaw related treatments.
  • Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) - 3 dimensional images of dental structures, soft tissue, nerves and bone for dental surgery related cases like cysts and dental implants.
