Smile correction procedures

COSMETIC DENTAL PROCEDURES

To improve the appearance of smile and teeth, there are certain procedures in dentistry such as :

BLEACHING:

Bleaching lightens the teeth that have been stained or discolored by food and / or age, or have darkened as a result of injury.

BONDING:

Bonding involves applying a tooth colored filling material called composite resin to the surface of your chipped, broken or discolored teeth. The composite resin also fill in gaps between your teeth.

ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT:

Orthodontic treatment is used to correct the malocclusion ( teeth that are crowded or crooked ).
Recent advances for correction of malocclusion includes Clear aligners.
Clear aligners correct the malaligned teeth without metal wires and braces and they are removable.

CROWN LENGTHENING:

Crown lengthening procedure is to improve a "gummy" smile because your teeth appear short. Your teeth may actually be the proper lengths, but they're covered with too much gum tissue.
During the dental crown lengthening procedure, excess gum tissue is reshaped to expose more of the natural tooth. This can be done to several teeth to expose a natural, broad smile.

GUM SURGERY:

Sometimes gum recession causes the tooth root to become exposed, which makes your teeth look long. This recession can happen as a result of a variety of causes, including periodontal diseases.
Gum graft surgery and other root coverage procedures are designed to cover exposed roots, to reduce further gum recession and to protect roots from decay.
In excessive gingival recession cases, gum grafts are used to cover the roots or develop gum tissue.
LASER GUM DEPIGMENTATION:
Gum depigmentation, also known as gum bleaching, is a procedure used to lighten or remove black spots or patches on the gums caused by melanin.

FRENECTOMY:
A labial frenectomy is a form of frenectomy performed on the lip.
The labial frenum often attaches to the center of the upper lip and between the upper two front teeth. This can cause a large gap and gum recession by pulling the gums off the bone. A labial frenectomy removes the labial frenum  and help with closing a front tooth gap.
